Make a PPT with Gamma AI
Presentations (PPT) are what Gamma is used for most. This page covers the whole process: generating slides from a topic or a file, editing, exporting to PowerPoint, and the Free plan's limits. Information checked October 2026.
From a topic or your material
In Gamma (gamma.app), create a new presentation and type a one-line topic, paste an outline or longer text, or import a PDF or PPTX file. Gamma's AI agent drafts a structured outline first; add, remove or reorder slides at this stage, then confirm, and Gamma generates the content and layout.
Before generating you can choose a theme, the number of slides and the language. Gamma writes in the language of your prompt.
Ask the agent or edit directly
After generating, ask for changes in chat, such as a different tone, a shorter deck or another chart type, or edit text, swap images and drag layouts directly on the slide. Themes can be changed as a whole; custom branding and themes require Pro or above.
Export to PowerPoint or PDF
Gamma exports to PowerPoint (PPTX), PDF, PNG and Google Slides. The PPTX opens in PowerPoint for further editing, and Gamma states that import and export keep formatting intact. You can also skip exporting and share a link, with viewer analytics on Pro and above.

Free plan limits
Slides per prompt
The Free plan generates up to 10 slides per prompt; more can be added by hand afterward. Plus and above allow 100.
Gamma branding
Exports and shared links on the Free plan carry a “Made with Gamma” mark; Plus and above remove it.
Credits
A new account gets 400 credits that do not refresh. Generation and AI edits use credits, and the balance is shown in your account.
Input length
Up to 50,000 tokens of input per generation on the Free plan, 100,000 on paid plans; this limit is separate from credits.

Does the Gamma AI presentation maker write in my language?
Yes. Gamma writes in the language of your prompt; choose the language before generating if you want it to differ from the prompt.
Can Gamma AI export to PowerPoint?
Yes. Export as PPTX and keep editing in PowerPoint; Gamma states that import and export keep formatting intact. PDF, PNG and Google Slides exports are also available.
